On 11 December 2025, false information spread on social media claiming that Tatmadaw attacked the general hospital in MraukU of Rakhine State, killing innocent civilians who were receiving medical treatment.

The true situation is that since November 2023, the fighting between Tatmadaw and AA terrorists has resumed in Rakhine State. In some areas, Tatmadaw temporarily retreated. Similarly, the heavy clashes occurred in the vicinity of MraukU, and in July 2024, AA terrorists temporarily took control of the area. Therefore, the departmental staff, doctors and nurses who were officially appointed by the government were evacuated in advance to a safe place not to be trapped in the clash, and the hospital was officially closed by the government. The AA terrorists took shelter in that hospital and established their camp, taking advantage of the hospital’s appearance for cover.

Terrorists, such as AA, local PDF, BPLA and Asho Chin armed terrorists used the hospital building as their base, and operated their administrative measures, according to the local Rakhine people. Based on accurate information provided by local civilians who did not accept the AA’s actions at all, Tatmadaw carried out necessary security measures and launched a Counter-Terrorism Operation on 10 December against the buildings being used as a base by AA and PDF terrorists.

According to the photos shared by these terrorists groups on social media, they show their own injured members being moved and messages of condolences for their deceased members. Those killed or injured were not civilians, but terrorists and their supporters. It is understood that those terrorists such as AA, BPLA, local PDF and Asho Chin assign their trusted family members of local AA terrorists to carry out the necessary administrative tasks in the area being used as a military base. Tatmadaw will continue security measures in accordance with the Rules of Engagement (ROE).
