Under the supervision of the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee, efforts to combat the illicit trade are continued effectively by the law.

On 12, 15 and 18 November, the combined teams impounded illegal timber weighing 1.188 tonnes worth K167,480 in Paukkhaung township, forest products worth K9.6 million without official documents from a Higher mini bus (approximately K40 million) at the Yadanabon bridge combined checkpoint (Hnapauk) in Amarapura township and illegal timbers worth K359,920 in Thazi Township. The action was conducted under the Forest Law.

On 15, 17 and 19 November, the combined on-duty teams seized illegal timbers weighing 3.313 tonnes worth K795,072 in Ngaputaw township, unregistered vehicle (approximately K10 million) in Pathein township, two vehicles (estimated value of K42 million) carrying consumer goods worth K28.237 million without official documents in Waw township and industrial materials valued at K238.669 million without official documents from three containers at the Asia World Port. The action was taken under the Forest Law, the Export/Import Law and Customs procedures.

The Steering Committee reported 14 arrests on 12, 15, 17, 18 and 19 November, seizing illegal goods worth approximately K369 million.
