Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Than Soe received a delegation led by Ms Noriko Takagi, Representative of UNHCR to Myanmar, in Nay Pyi Taw on 7 November.

They exchanged views on developments since the visit of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to Myanmar, visa and residence permit extensions for UNHCR’s foreign staff, the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between UNHCR and the Ministry, and prospects for future cooperation.

The meeting was also attended by the director-general and officials from the Disaster Management Department.
