Myanma Posts and Telecommunications (MPT), under the Ministry of Transport and Communications, held its 17th blood donation event at Nay Pyi Taw General Hospital (1,000-bed) yesterday morning, with 43 volunteers and ministry staff donating blood.
The blood donation drive was supported by Union Minister for Transport and Communications U Mya Tun Oo, Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win, deputy ministers, and departmental officials, who also provided food and medications.
Union Minister Dr Thet Khaing Win presented certificates of appreciation to the donors, while Union Minister U Mya Tun Oo handed out souvenirs.
MPT simultaneously held its 17th blood donation drives at hospitals and blood centres in Yangon, Mandalay, Dawei, Magway, Taunggyi, Lashio, Kengtung, and Pathein, with a total of 345 staff members donating blood.
MPT has been organizing blood donation initiatives since 2017 and has now held its 17th campaign, with a total of about 10,000 donors.
