THE third-day workshop, themed “Building a Peaceful Future of Myanmar”, marking the 10th anniversary ceremony of the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA), took place at the Jade Hall of MICC I in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

Meeting Chair Maj-Gen Soe Naing Oo (Rtd) made an opening speech for the discussion themed “Reviewing the implementation, achievements, and lessons learned from the ten years of the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA), promoting the inclusive participation of ethnic armed organizations and identifying short- and long-term strategies to address challenges and issues related to the peace process”, and Lt-Gen Khin Zaw Oo (Rtd), U Aung Naing Oo, Daw Saw Mra Yaza Lin and U Myo Win, representatives of NCA signatories led the discussion.

The closing ceremony took place in the same afternoon, and the respective leaders reviewed the topics, reported the outcomes and further additional matters. National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee Secretary Lt-Gen Min Naing and member Lt-Gen Sein Win (Rtd) then conferred the certificates of honour.

State Security and Peace Commission Member, National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee Chairman, and Union Minister for Border Affairs and for Ethnic Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae presented gifts and concluded the event.

After the workshop, UEC officials demonstrated the use of MEVM for the 2025 multiparty democratic general election. — MNA/KTZH
