THE Basic Education High School No 1 in Kyaukme, Shan State (North), reopened on 8 October, followed by the resumption of enrolment at the Basic Education High School No 4 and Basic Education Middle School No 4 yesterday.

During the ongoing enrolment process, a further 254 students registered, bringing the total number of students currently attending schools in the township to 2,760. Students are reportedly studying peacefully in a calm and stable environment.

Newly enrolled students were provided with free textbooks, writing materials, and other school supplies distributed by the Ministry of Education. Officials from the relevant departments assisted with administrative matters to ensure the smooth resumption of classes and proper learning arrangements.

At the same time, officials from the Department of Immigration and Population conducted household registration checks and issued citizenship scrutiny cards to residents who had recently returned to the township.

Security personnel carried out mine-clearance operations around departmental offices, schools, and public areas to ensure the safety of teachers, students, and residents. In addition, medical teams from the Ministry of Health and the Tatmadaw jointly opened a temporary clinic at the Kyaukme Laba Munita Chinese Communal Temple, where they continued to provide healthcare services for residents.

According to reports, 106 outpatients received medical check-ups and treatment, while five patients requiring further care were admitted to the hospital.
