Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs and for Hotels and Tourism Jeng Phang Naw Taung attended the ceremony honouring ISPE Women’s Football Club (Myanmar) for its success in the AFC Women’s Champions League 2025/2026 (Preliminary) at the Yangon Region Sports and Physical Education Institute’s Union Hall in Kyaikkasan, Tamway Township, Yangon, yesterday.

The event was attended by Yangon Region Sports and Physical Education Committee Chairman, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, the Myanmar Olympic Committee Vice-Chairperson, deputy ministers, region ministers, committee members, donors, special guests, team officials, coaches, and athletes.

The Union minister delivered a congratulatory speech and accepted an honorary cash award of K10 million from the Yangon Region Chief Minister for the ISPE Women’s Football Club. Subsequently, extra honorary contributions from the Myanmar sports federations, donors, and organizations brought the total award to K171.5 million, which was presented to the team.

Following the ceremony, the Union minister and delegation inspected renovations at the Kyaikkasan Basketball Court, volleyball facilities, and other sports venues in Tamway Township. Later, they attended the 2025 Region and State Tennis Competition opening ceremony at Theinbyu Tennis Court in Yangon, and observed ongoing matches.

In the afternoon, the Union Minister, accompanied by Deputy Minister U Phyo Zaw Soe and officials, reviewed operations at foreign-invested hotels in Yangon, focusing on guest services, staff training, fire safety, certification, and environmental management. The Union minister urged hotel operators to follow ministry regulations, meet international standards, provide quality services, and collectively contribute to the development of Myanmar’s tourism and hotel sector.
