Every citizen has the duty to uphold “Our Three Main National Causes” — non-disintegration of the Union, non-disintegration of national solidarity, and perpetuation of sovereignty. To enable citizens to fulfil these duties, the People’s Military Service Law came into effect on 10 February 2024, requiring all citizens to undergo military training and serve in national defence. Accordingly, training courses for public military service are now being conducted for young people who have enthusiastically registered to serve in the defence and security of the nation.
The graduation ceremonies for People’s Military Service Training 14, attended by patriotic citizens who will dutifully serve in national defence and security responsibilities, were held yesterday morning at training depots under relevant military commands.
The ceremonies followed the military parade agenda, with trainees taking an oath of allegiance while holding the State Flag. Responsible officials then delivered addresses and presented awards to outstanding trainees.
Afterwards, chief ministers of regions and states, commanders of relevant commands, and other officials met with the graduating soldiers at the training depots, offering words of encouragement and farewell.
Course graduates had undergone training in endurance, military parades, military strategy, and other general subjects. According to the 2008 Constitution, every citizen has the duty to safeguard the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the State, as well as to undergo military training and serve in national defence as prescribed by law.
The new soldiers who graduated yesterday gained discipline, teamwork, and a strong sense of nationalism, patriotism, and esprit de corps. They will now take pride in serving in national defence and security duties at their respective regiments and units.
In the evening, graduation dinners were held at training depots for the graduates of People’s Military Service Training 14.
