Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, accompanied by Kayah State Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin, attended the discussion on establishing a resilient and strong social community and entertainment event of artistes for moral support to locals, and inspected the reconstruction and development activities in Loikaw yesterday.

The Union minister and officials, including the artistes attended the donation ceremony for monks at the abbot training schools in Loikaw yesterday morning.

He then joined the discussion on establishing a resilient and strong social community held at the University of Computer Studies (Loikaw).

Speaking at the event, the Union minister said that although Kayah State did not face the Mandalay earthquake, but the destructive actions of the terrorists and their impacts on state stability. Currently, the government, Tatmadaw and state government are working hard to ensure the state’s stability, reconstruction and development programmes. Moreover, the artistes were also here to provide moral support to the locals with their arts.

The Union minister presented a cash prize to the performers, and donated books for schools, an MRTV DTH receiver and an MRTV T-2 Settop Box for the University of Computer Studies (Loikaw).

The Union minister and academy Yan Aung drew lots for the attendees and handed over an MRTV DTH receiver and an MRTV T-2 Settop Box to the winners.

The Union minister and party headed to Thiri Mingalar New Market in Loikaw, and heard the report made by the person in charge of the market.

The Union minister, officials and artistes observed the market area and cordially greeted the sellers and buyers.
