Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe attended the opening ceremony of the 40th Technical Committee Meeting of the Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP) at the Eravati Sule Grand Hotel in Yangon yesterday.

The Union minister highlighted the chances of meeting to review the progress, share the experiences and opportunities to apply, promoting the suitable advancements. He added that all should propose new innovations and practical solutions during the three-day meeting, and try hard not to leave any places unexplored through the stairs heading to cooperation, innovation and unity. All should move forward together to a future of sustainable and inclusive rural transformation in the Asia-Pacific region.

CIRDAP Director-General Mr Chandra Shekara Putte Gowda briefed on the intention of the meeting.

The 40th Technical Committee Meeting of CIRDAP will be held on 25-26 August, and the participants will visit Yemon village of Hlegu township and Union National Races Village (Yangon) on 27 August.

After the opening ceremony, the Union minister attended the handover ceremony of fertilizer under the crop lien system to monsoon paddy farmers at Good Brother centre in Hlegu.
