The Myanmar delegation led by Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Htein Win, who attended the 19th ASEAN Navy Chiefs’ Meeting (19th ANCM) in Malaysia, arrived back in Myanmar on 21 August.

During the visit, the delegation attended the 19th ANCM, met with ASEAN Navy Chiefs separately and attended the ASEAN naval fleet exhibition.

The 19th ANCM was held in Penang of Malaysia, from 18 to 21 August. Malaysian Minister for Defence Mohamed Khaled Nordin made the opening speech at the event. During the meeting, the Navy chiefs approved the minutes of the 18th ANCM, and the ANCM permanent joint secretary briefed the regional maritime security affairs. They also exchanged views on Advancing the ASEAN Navies’ Unity-Synergizing Innovation and Technology in Strengthening ASEAN Maritime Security, and Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Htein Win discussed sustainable role of unity and trust, practical application of innovation and technology and practical actions to promote maritime security.

After the meeting, the Commander-in-Chief (Navy) separately met with the Navy Chiefs of Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, and the deputy chief of the Lao Army.

On 20 August, the ASEAN Navy Chiefs planted trees on Penang Hill as a commemorative activity. On 21 August, the Commander-in-Chief (Navy) attended the ASEAN naval fleet exhibition together with other naval chiefs.

Tatmadaw naval vessel Hsinphyushin and other ASEAN naval vessels arrived in Malaysia on 15 August to participate in the 3rd ASEAN Multilateral Naval Exercise and ASEAN naval fleet exhibition.

During the naval exercise, the naval vessel Hsinphyushin participated in different naval exercises. The 3rd AMNEX took place from 15 to 22 August, with the participation of 10 naval vessels, including Myanmar naval vessel Hsinphyushin.
