Myanmar detained 30 Filipinos, four Kenyans, two Indians, one Cameroonian and one Ethiopian, totalling 38 individuals, involved in telecom fraud and other criminal activities in Kayin State yesterday.

Between 30 January and 21 August 2025, a total of 9,369 illegal immigrants were identified and detained in Myanmar. Of this number, 9,205 individuals have already been deported through Thailand to their respective countries, while arrangements are being made to deport the remaining 164 individuals. These individuals are currently under detention while awaiting repatriation.

The government is strictly cracking down on online scams and online gambling by cooperating with other countries, including neighbouring countries.
