U Than Swe, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs, received Mr Iori Kato, Regional Director for the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

They discussed and exchanged views on matters relating to the IOM’s support to migrant workers from Myanmar, the IOM’s current work programmes in Myanmar, the cooperation between the Government of Myanmar and the IOM and the provision of relief items to people affected by the earthquake in Myanmar.

Also, present at the meeting were the senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr Daihei Mochizuki, Chief of Mission of IOM in Myanmar and Mr Christos Dorian, Senior Programme Manager, Labour Migration and Migrants protection from the IOM office in Myanmar.
