THE Myanmar Police Force stated that a gang trafficking drugs worth over K48.4 billion was arrested in Insein Township, Yangon.

A combined team comprising those from the Drug Enforcement Division seized 1,875 kilogrammes of Ice (methamphetamine) worth K46.875 billion and 1,600,000 stimulant tablets valued at K1.6 billion with a Toyota Dyna from Zaw Zaw Lwin’s house rent by Thein Win Htun and Htun Htun Lin (aka) Ko Htun in Insein Township at 6:30 am on 12 July.

According to confession, Nay Myo Aung who transported the drugs was arrested in Hlaing Township at 7 pm, Kyi Phyu (aka) Kyaw Win Htay and Zaw Min Naing in a Kluger in Waw Township on 15 July, Soe Lin Paing (aka) Lin Lin at 4:30 pm on 15 July at the Nawade bridge in Pyay Township, Ye Htun (aka) Pae Nin (aka) Phoe Tha Gi who is a boat owner at 10:30 pm on 16 July in Patheingyi Township, boat owner Thein Than Htay (aka) Zaw Zaw Aung (aka) Nga Htay, Kyaw Swa Min (aka) Min Min and Myo Htun (aka) Ko Htun at 4:30 pm on 17 July in Mingaladon Township.

The offenders admitted the drugs were kept by Htun Htun Win (aka) Ko Htun under the supervision of Bawsi (aka) Panthee (aka) Owner, were transported to Malaysia water by Ko Sai and Maung Maung together with Kyi Phyu (aka) Kyaw Win Htay and Aung Phyo (aka) Aung Pyo Naing (aka) Ko Myo, Thein Than Htay (aka) Zaw Zaw Aung (aka) Nga Htay, Ye Htun (aka) Pae Nin (aka) Phoe Tha Gi.

An investigation is underway, and action is being taken against them under the Anti-Money Laundering Law.
