The 103rd anniversary of the International Cooperative Day ceremony was held at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development yesterday morning.
Union Minister U Hla Moe said the Cooperative Department sets its visions, missions, policies, procedures and nine Action Plan to promote the socioeconomic status of the people, organize with those want to want to work and same businesses to create job opportunities and the old units are also reformed with those want to run practically, and so there are 38,638 cooperative societies to date.
Moreover, the department also searches for fine seedlings, provides agrochemicals, conducts educational programmes, searches the market and arranges to purchase animal feed.
Moreover, the Cooperative Accounting Vocational Training Centres were also opened in Magway, Mandalay, Mawlamyine and Pathein townships starting from the 2022-2023 academic year.
He also urged the attendees to follow the theme “Cooperatives: Driving Inclusive and Sustainable Solutions for a Better World”.
The Central Cooperative Society Limited chairperson remarked, and one of the directors read out the message sent by the International Cooperative Federation. The celebration featured a song dedicated to International Cooperative Day and a video showcasing various cooperative activities.
The Union minister and party presented cash assistance for Thattant Yaung Project agriculture and livestock breeding, machines and State Economic Promotion Fund to the relevant officials, and observed the booths.
