Chairman of the State Administration Council, Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, held talks with Mr Alexander Gregoryevich Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus, at the hall of the Presidential Palace in Minsk, Belarus, yesterday afternoon.
The Senior General was warmly welcomed by the President of Belarus.
At the meeting, the Belarusian President said that he was delighted to have this opportunity to meet once again with His Excellency, Chairman of the State Administration Council and Prime Minister of Myanmar. During this meeting, they will continue discussions on matters that remained from their previous talks. There is a strong interest in promoting cooperation between Myanmar and Belarus, and the Action Plan for bilateral cooperation should be developed and implemented with both strategic and long-term perspectives. He said that he would like to express his intention to work not only in the sectors of politics, health, and humanitarian assistance but also in the economic sector for the development of both countries. Belarus is currently making arrangements to implement cooperative activities in Myanmar.
The Belarusian Minister for Foreign Affairs explained ongoing cooperation in all sectors between Belarus and Myanmar and future processes.
In his response, the Senior General expressed his sincere gratitude for taking the time to meet and hold discussions amidst many responsibilities of His Excellency President, while hosting the 4th Eurasian Economic Forum (EEF 2025). On behalf of Myanmar and the people of Myanmar, the Senior General extended special thanks to the Republic of Belarus for promptly dispatching rescue teams and assisting in relief efforts, as well as for providing necessary humanitarian aid during the time of the recent major Mandalay earthquake in Myanmar.
He continued that attending the 4th Eurasian Economic Forum 2025 (EEF 2025) provided many opportunities for cooperation between Myanmar and the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). There are numerous potential areas for bilateral collaboration between Myanmar and Belarus, and such cooperation will continue to expand. During the visit to Belarus, he also had the opportunity to visit factories and workplaces, where discussions were held to explore possible avenues for cooperation.
The Senior General and the Belarusian President exchanged views on further expansion of existing friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Also present at the meeting together with the Senior General were Council Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, SAC member General Nyo Saw, Union ministers, and the Myanmar Ambassador to Belarus. The Belarusian President was accompanied by senior officials from the Belarusian government and ministers.
After the talks, the Senior General and the President of Belarus had a luncheon together with Presidents of the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, the Chairman of Eurasion Economic Commission Board, the EAEU observer President of Uzbekistan, and invited representatives from Mongolia and the UAE who attended the 4th Eurasian Economic Forum 2025-EEF 2025.
