ACCORDING to statistics on the demand letters released by the Myanmar Embassy to Japan, more than 1,100 Myanmar workers would be recruited by up to 390 Japanese companies.
The embassy has carried out timely verifications of demand letters received from the Ministry of Labour via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it said.
It verifies whether labour supervisory companies and factories, or companies which offered jobs in Japan, are officially established or not, and resubmits its findings and remarks to the Ministry of Labour through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
It is about 397 demand letters that the embassy submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs after verification until 25 February 2025. According to it, over 360 Myanmar male workers and over 800 Myanmar female workers would be recruited by more than 390 Japanese companies.
The embassy stated on 15 May, more than 1,200 Myanmar workers would be employed by up to 300 Japanese companies.
