More than 1,990,000 stimulant tablets and 134 kilogrammes of heroin, worth over K6.35 billion, were seized in Lewe Township, the Myanmar Police Force reported.
Acting on a tip-off, a combined team from the Drug Enforcement Division searched a Fuso 12-wheel vehicle travelling from Aungnangcho to Pyinmana. The vehicle was driven by Zin Myo Htet Aung (aka) Kala Lay and accompanied by Min Khant Kyaw and Myat Soe Oo (aka) Super. The team also intercepted two Chevrolets driven by Thurein Ko Ko and accompanied by Kyaw Myo Hlaing (aka) Kyaw Gyi and Nay Oo Shein at 11 pm on 20 May. During the operation, the police seized 1,999,400 stimulant tablets and 134.2 kilogrammes of heroin.

Following the investigation, police arrested Paw Lu (aka) Paw Lu Chan, Soe Lwin, and Thein San Htun (aka) Kala Lay, who were involved in transporting the drugs from Shan State to Mandalay. They were apprehended at a hotel in Pyinmana Township at 9 am on 21 May.

Legal action has been taken against the offenders, and an investigation is ongoing to identify others involved in the drug trafficking chain.
