The handover ceremony of prefabricated schools for the quake-affected schools in Sagaing, donated by the AHA Centre, was organized at the basic education middle school, diesel locomotive maintenance factory, in Ywahtaung ward, Sagaing, yesterday.

Regional Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw expressed gratitude to the AHA Centre for donating prefabricated schools to five schools among the quake-affected schools in Sagaing.

Executive Director Mr Lee Yam Ming of the AHA Centre briefed the donation and handed over the prefabricated schools to the relevant officials.

The donation included five prefabricated schools — two 120 feet by 30 feet container classrooms, one 90 feet by 30 feet container classrooms and two 60 feet by 30 feet container classrooms.

At noon, Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw, Lt-Gen Thet Pon from the Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army), observed the training camps in preparation for retaking the 2025 matriculation at Sagaing University of Education.

On arrival at the BEHS 1 in Sagaing, they inspected the emergency shelters for the quake-stricken teachers and temporary school buildings.

Moreover, they observed the temporary shelters for departmental staff of the Department of Urban and Housing Development.

They also inspected the clearing of debris at the collapsed building at the Shwehintha Taikthit monastery by Tatmadaw members, police members, firefighters and social organizations, and road paving processes beside the monastery compound.
