Chairman of the National Disaster Management Committee Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win, accompanied by Union ministers, the Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council and the commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command, yesterday afternoon inspected the repair and renovation of ministerial buildings, staff housing and dormitories.

At the meeting hall of the Ministry of Energy, the Vice-Senior General heard reports by officials on damage to office buildings in the earthquake, the functionality of office work at the prefabricated offices, and progress in the installation of modular houses for staff families. He inspected damaged parts of the Union minister’s office, and office building of the Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise, and the progress of repairing tasks.

At the Ministry of Planning and Finance, the Vice-Senior General looked into the damage to the main building and other office buildings of the ministry in the earthquake and the repairing tasks and coordinated with officials to fulfil the needs.

At Building 6209, which is marked with a blue label indicating suitability for resettlement, located in Thukha Theikdi Ward, Zabuthiri Township, the Vice-Senior General observed the progress of repairing the damaged parts of the building by the Myanmar Licensed Contractors Association and the resettlement of staff families. He asked staff families about their daily routines and acceptance of the five basic foodstuffs provided by the State and coordinated with officials to fulfil the needs.

At Building 3107 in Nyana Theikdi Ward, Zabuthiri Township, the Vice-Senior General inspected the repair of the damaged parts of the building and apartments by the Myanmar Building Development Association through the Stitching Method and gave necessary instructions to officials.

He also inspected the repair works being carried out by staff from the Construction Entrepreneurs Association at Building 1 of the Thazin (2) Female Dormitory and Building 11 of the Thazin (5) Male Dormitory, where some walls had been slightly damaged due to the earthquake. The repairs involved filling the cracks using a mixture of Sikalastic liquid, Sika Grout, and cement. The Vice-Senior General coordinated with officials to fulfil the requirements of the staff.
