Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn presided over a coordination meeting on film screening measures in Yangon yesterday.

The Union minister said the ministry made efforts together with the Myanmar Motion Pictures Organization to restore the film industry to normal condition, as it was suspended during the COVID-19 period, and the government helped to hold the film Academy award ceremony in the post-COVID-19 period and presented lifetime achievement awards in film.

It can be seen that the special emphasis of the Head of State that he places on the film and artistic industries. Some artistes participated in party politics instead of their career, and some cases occurred in the country.

He highlighted the need to share the factors and information that the government wants to inform the public at the cinemas as they are recreational places, lead the public to the right pathway while offering pleasures, and discussed other matters related to the screening of foreign movies with Myanmar subtitles, censorship measures, quality, marketable and artistic films and win-win- situation between the owners of cinemas and producers.
At noon, the Union minister visited MRTV and observed the practice section of faculty members and students from GTI (Insein).

The Union minister watched the recording and music video-making processes of TTC students at Studio 1 and presented cash prizes to them.

At Studio D, he enjoyed the song recording processes of artistes who will perform at the forum on the post-earthquake Myanmar Economic recovery and rehabilitation to be held at Mingalar Thiri Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw on 30 May. He awarded the artistes.

At Studio E, he watched the practice session of the MRTV orchestra and the State Orchestra at Studio B.
