ENGINEERS from the Mandalay Region Construction Entrepreneurs Association (MCEF) and Engineering Ministries International (EMI) jointly inspected the strength of residential and public buildings in Mandalay, according to the association.

The engineering team, comprising members from EMI and MCEF, has inspected two residential buildings, two gold shops, two churches, the Mandalay University of Traditional Medicine, and Mandalay University since 1 May. The team will continue inspections and provide recommendations until 9 May.

The MCEF has inspected and provided recommendations for more than 300 residential buildings since 6 April and continues to assess and advise Mandalay homeowners requesting evaluations of their homes’ structural strength.

Similarly, on 1 May, a team of construction experts, including officials from the Myanmar Engineering Federation and foreign construction specialists, inspected the main building of Mandalay University, which was damaged by the Mandalay earthquake, to initiate repair and reconstruction work.
