ACCORDING to the Myanmar Police Force, over K1.5 billion worth of narcotic drugs, including one million stimulant tablets and 2.3 kilogrammes of marijuana, were seized in Waw and Thaton townships.

Acting on a tip-off, a combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force intercepted a Toyota Lexus at around 1 pm on 28 April near Nyaungkhashay village in Waw Township, Bago Region. The vehicle was travelling from Tatkon to Mawlamyine, driven by Moe Win Hlaing with Kyaw Khine Oo. During the search, authorities found and confiscated 1 million stimulant tablets on board.

Following this seizure, further investigation led to the arrest of Thura Myo Myo (aka) Myo Myo at around 4:30 pm at his residence in Myawady Ward in Tatkon. There, authorities seized 2.3 kilogrammes of marijuana and a Cadillac Escalade.

The seized drugs were being trafficked from Shan State to Mon State for illegal distribution. Legal action has been taken against the offenders, and investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend other individuals involved in the drug trafficking network.
