Lhaovo National Unity and Development Party Chairperson Dr La Kham Daung Kham presented party’s policy, stance and work programmes through radio and TV on 6 October.

Esteemed people and national brethren

I would like to express thanks to the Union Election Commission for allowing us to deliver this electoral speech on TV and radio.

I am Chairperson Dr La Kham Daung Kham of the Lhaovo National Unity and Development Party.

Lhaovo ethnic people were descended from their ancestors, who lived around the May Kha (aka) Laung Byit River. Lhaovo people live in Kachin and Shan states.

Lhaovo people live in rural areas. Most of them are uneducated and poor. Only a few Lhaovo people are interested in politics. Lhaovos are shy people. So, it was a struggle for Lhaovo people to form a political party.

Esteemed voters and people

Lhaovo National Unity and Development Party was formed on 29 June 2015, with party registration number 89.

Now, I would like to explain our party’s flag and emblem. The party flag has three background colours. In the middle of the flag, there is a Lhaovo traditional sword (Da Bam Byaw). There is a white star at the top left corner of the flag. The top colour band of the flag is blue, which represents peace and prosperity. The middle colour band of the flag is black, which means integrity and loyalty. The bottom colour band is green, which represents greenness, survival and coolness. The traditional sword (Da Bam Byaw) represents Lhaovo ethnic people, and the red colour represents bravery, courage, and fierce determination, and eagerness. The white star at the top left corner of the flag represents the Republic of Union of Myanmar in which all national, ethnic people live unitedly. Having three bands of colours means that the party will give high priority to the Our Three Main National Causes.

The party’s emblem consists of two red Lhaovo traditional swords, and there is a rooster between the swords.
