The Ministry of Information organized an online meeting yesterday evening with representatives from media, literary, film, traditional Thabin, and music industries to provide relief fund for the needy persons in these industries amidst COVID-19 crisis.

Union Minister for Information Dr Pe Myint, Deputy Minister U Aung Hla Tun, Permanent Secretary U Myo Myint Maung, and relevant government officials discussed to offer K30 million to each industry.

U Htin Lin Oo from literary circle; U Kyaw Swar Min, U Myat Khaing, U Chit Win Maung and U Wunna aka Mar J, U Myint Kyaw, U Naing Min Wai, Daw Nan Phaw Gay, Daw May Yi Nyein Chan, Daw Tinza, U Htay Aung, and U Khun Sai Aung from media industry; U Nyi Nyi Tun Lwin, and U Aye Kyu Lay from film industry; traditional dancer Phoe Chit and U Nay Win from Thabin industry; and U Zaw Htoo Aung, U Myint Moe Aung, Daw Haymar Nay Win, U Naing Zaw, U Ko Ko Lwin, U Kyi Min Thein, and Piano Thein Myint Than from music industry also joined the meeting online.

With the permission of the National-Level Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment of COVID-19, the ministry will present a total of K150 million to the five industries on 30 September, and their representatives will later redistribute the money to the needy people.
