Malicious media outlets are spreading false information on social media, claiming that security forces raided and robbed the houses in Wetlu village, convenience stalls and mobile phone showrooms along the main road in Natogyi Township, Mandalay Region, on 18 September.

According to a security official, the PDF terrorists attacked the Wetlu village using heavy and small weapons on 17 September, and the security forces conducted security measures. They retreated during the counterattack by security forces. On 18 September, they launched an attack against Wetlu village with heavy weapons and the houses were destroyed. The security forces did not take any property of the public.

Fake news was reportedly circulated through malicious media, defaming security forces.
