The Kachin State Government conducted inspections on agricultural and MSME manufacturing activities in the state, funded by the State economic promotion fund.

On 2 June, Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan inspected the Jiangphaw weaving industry in Myitkyina Township and distribution of 150,000 school notebooks across the state.

During the inspection, the State Chief Minister, accompanied by Chief Justice U Tu Ja of State High Court, state government ministers, visited the Jiangphaw traditional clothing manufacturing and trading business in Rampu Ward 4, Myitkyina. They viewed the storage of raw textile and the weaving of traditional Kachin wares.

Following this, the chief minister emphasized the popularity and marketability of traditional Kachin clothing, expressing support for and promotion of weavers.

They inquired about the procurement and collection of raw textile and the ability to export and sell them to the market.

Additionally, the state’s chief minister and officials looked into the operation of the state government’s paper mill and the distribution of notebooks, funded with K135 million for the first round of the State economic promotion fund and K100 million for the second round.
