A total of 86 Myanmar migrant workers returned from Thailand – 78 males and 8 females – arrived in Kawthoung via waterway yesterday.

The returnees, who were charged with various offences in Thailand amid COVID-19, came back home with the coordination and supervision of Taninthayi Region Myanmar Migrant Workers Scrutinizing and Transportation Committee.

Kawthoung District and Township COVID-19 Prevention, Control and Emergency Response Committee, departmental officials and NGOs scrutinized them and provided them with foods and other assistance.

They all are undergoing quarantine for 21 days at the community-based facility quarantine centres in Kawthoung.

After 21-day quarantine, those from other regions and states will be transported back to their natives and have to undergo home quarantine for seven days at their natives, and those who from Kawthoung will also have to undergo 7-day home quarantine.
