ACCORDING to Naing Aye Oo, secretary of the organizing committee for the Kason water-pouring festival, the traditional event, including competitions, will proceed as usual.
The festival, which involves pouring water on banyan trees, will feature teams from all wards of Ywalut village in Chaungzon township, Mon State. Scheduled for 22 May (full moon day of Kason), points will be awarded to participating teams based on their attire and cooperation. Prizes will be distributed accordingly.
“We have already provided funding for the uniforms of teams competing in this year’s district competition, which will be part of the water-pouring festival. Prizes will be presented for attire, cooperation, and the natural beauty of the teams’ activities. The top three teams will receive awards, with recognition for others as well,” stated Naing Aye Oo.
