MALICIOUS media outlets spread fake news, claiming that security forces raided Pyitawtha village and torched the village in Kalay Township of Sagaing on 1 May.

According to a security official, while security members were near Pyitawtha village to conduct security measures, terrorists attacked them with homemade heavy and small weapons. The heavy weapon shells fell into the village and exploded, destroying the houses. In the counterattack of security forces, terrorists retreated to the northern part of the village.

The subversive media intentionally spread one-sided misinformation to mislead the people.
