TERRORISTS from the KNLA and PDF terrorists affiliated with the NUG and CRPH reportedly planted explosives on the Nganuthan reinforced concrete bridge along the Yangon-Mandalay highway between Kanyutkwin and Nyaungpintha towns early yesterday morning.
The bridge measures 70 feet in length and 64 feet in width. Following the explosion, a section of the bridge measuring 50 feet in length and 50 feet in width was destroyed.
Similarly, they allegedly planted mines on the Yangon-Mandalay railway, 700 metres northwest of the bridge. The explosion damaged approximately 10 feet of the two iron rails on the old railway and 20 feet of the two iron rails on the new railway.
Currently, the roadways have been closed, and officials from the Road and Bridge Department, along with staff, are actively involved in repairing the damages. Security forces are conducting counter-terrorism operations.
PDF terrorists have been accused of committing war crimes as they targeted non-military entities.
