A Wooden bicycle constructed in Taungup has gone viral on the internet, and similar new creations will be produced, said Ko Zaw Min Tun, who invented the wooden bicycle.
He said it draws the attention of internet users, and some inquired about the price. The price has yet to be set, and he added that if there are interested buyers, he will set a price depending on the buyer's demand and cost.
"There are enquires about price. If I have orders, I will invent them for commercial sale. I am delighted that people like the creation I have made. The first invention was made with wood pieces I have at home, so I haven't calculated the cost. I had to buy just some items I needed. If there are potential buyers, I will fix a price depending on what the customer wants and the cost," said Ko Zaw Min Tun.
He made the wooden bicycle pedal lightly at regular speed he said.
He has been planning to create a similar one in a new design in the next few days, and he explained that an iron axle will be used to ensure its durability.
"I will make another one professionally in a new design that everyone can ride and have durability in a couple of days. This bike was made of wood completely, so I will use an iron axle in my next creation to ensure withstanding rough handling," he said.
He made a wooden bicycle when he was 12 but didn't reach the stage of pedalling capability. He said he resumed the creation when he was over 40 years old for the first time due to a shortage of job opportunities.
