FAKE news is circulating on social media that security forces visited Lin Yaung Chi Monastery in Wiyaw Village-tract, Thaton Township, Mon State on 26 December and forcibly took away K1.7 million and some food items including a phone.

Regarding the news, according to a security official from the relevant area, no security forces visited the monastery on 26 December.

Illegal media intentionally fabricate false information and post it on social networking sites to create misunderstandings between the local people and the security forces, and to degrade the reputation of the security forces.
