The Union Enterprise for Humanitarian Assistance, Resettlement and Development (UEHRD)’s Healthcare Task Force will join in hands in the government’s fight against coronavirus in Rakhine State, according to a virtual meeting yesterday.

The UEHRD Committee organized the meeting online with its healthcare task force calling on the taskforce’s cooperation in coronavirus fight in Rakhine State.

Speaking at the meeting, UEHRD Vice-Chairperson 1 and Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Win Myat Aye said that the UEHRD was formed to help the victims of conflicts in Rakhine State.

The UEHRD has been undertaking the works of humanitarian assistances, development and establishment of peace and stability with long-term plans, he added.

He also said UEHRD Healthcare Task force to work together with the government and the Ministry of Health and Sports in providing assistances of hospital beds and healthcare works that need to be increased for healthcare process.

He called for the healthcare task force to coordinate with relevant departments to fulfill the requirements of volunteers and to cooperate with other UEHRD task forces.

The meeting discussed matters related to selecting in-charge of coordination for Rakhine State’s ground situation and planning for fast implementation, and that the healthcare task force will implement the works with separate funds.

They also detailed about fast assistance programmes for healthcare workers, coordination with Rakhine State Youth Affairs Committee members, recruiting trained volunteers, and conducting trainings for volunteers.

The meeting was attended by UEHRD Vice-Chairperson 1 Union Minister Dr Win Myat Aye, Secretary Deputy Minister U Soe Aung and members U Toe Aung and U Nyi Nyein Aye, UEHRD Healthcare Taskforce members, UEHRD Office members, and directors-general. —MNA (Translated by Kyaw Zin Tun)
