The Tatmadaw donated medical equipment for COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities in Rakhine State where has reported more new cases, according to the statement of Tatmadaw True News Information Team.
According to the statement, the numbers of COVID-19 cases become high in Rakhine State and there is a total of new 22 cases on the morning of 20 August and the Ministry of Health and Sports released an announcement for the people residing in Sittway Township in Rakhine State to follow Stay at Home order in the evening of 20 August.
The Ministry of Health and Sports reported a total of 13 cases-12 from Sittway and 1 from MraukU in the evening of 20 August and on the morning of 21 August.
The donated medical supplies for the prevention and control of COIVD-19 were transported to Sittway with Tatmadaw’s aircraft via Nay Pyi Taw Airport on 21 August.
The donated materials are 600,000 surgical masks, 2,500 PPEs (Personal Protective Equipment), 2,500 N95 masks, 2,500 goggles, 4,000 examination gloves, 3,000 surgical gloves, 200 face shields, 700 bottles of hand gel, 200 bottles of hand sanitizer, 40 non-contact infrared thermometers, 10 boxes of bleaching powder, 10 boxes of sodium hypochloride (15L), 5 spray bottles, 2,000 OT gowns, 2,000 OT caps, 1 biosafety cabinet unit and 200 test kits.
Colonel Thet Naing Oo of Sittway command and other officials received the medical equipment at Sittway Airport. Then, they presented 500,000 surgical masks, 1,000 PPEs (Personal Protective Equipment), 1,000 N95 masks, 1,000 goggles, 1,000 examination gloves, 100 face shields, 200 bottles of hand gel and 20 non-contact infrared thermometers to U Aung Myint Oo, general administer of Sittway district.
