THE Ad-Hoc Meeting of the Task Force to facilitate the provision of Humanitarian Assistance to Myanmar through the AHA Centre was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
The meeting was chaired by U Ko Ko Hlaing, Union Minister for International Cooperation and Chairman of the Myanmar Task Force and attended by Dr Thet Thet Khine, Vice-Chairperson of the Task Force and Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement and members of the Myanmar Task Force from respective ministries.
The meeting discussed the ways forward to facilitate the completion of the Joint Needs Assessment in order to proceed with the provision of broader humanitarian assistance to people in need in Myanmar and coordinated among the concerned ministries to ensure effective and secure on-ground procedures for the interim arrangement of provision of humanitarian assistance to Myanmar. The meeting then reaffirmed Myanmar’s commitment to the implementation of Point 4 of the Five-Point Consensus which is the provision of humanitarian assistance to Myanmar by enhancing the synergy between the existing mechanisms to meet the needs of people in need.
