UNDER Section 25 of the Political Parties Registration Law, Myanmar Farmers’ Development Party, which is desirous of organizing a political party, yesterday applied to the Union Election Commission for permission to establish a political party under the law and rules.

To date, six parties have applied under Section 3 of the Political Parties Registration Law, and 21 parties under Section 25 of the Political Parties Registration Law, totalling 27. Among these 27 parties, seven parties will organize in the entire union and 20 parties only within a region or state. The Union Election Commission continues verifying the right to establish and register these parties.
