UNDER Section 25 of the Political Parties Registration Act, Lisu National Development Party (LNDP) which is desirous of organizing a political party and Tai-Leng Nationalities Development Party (TNDP) which is desirous of organizing a political party yesterday applied to the Union Election Commission for permissions to establish political parties under the law and rules.

To date, six parties have applied under Section 3 of the Political Parties Registration Law and 13 parties have applied under Section 25 of the Political Parties Registration Law, totalling 19.

Among these 19 parties, five parties will organize the entire Union and 14 parties only within a region or state.

The Union Election Commission continues verifying the right to establish and register these parties.
