UNION Minister for Industry and for MSME Development Dr Charlie Than received the chairman and relevant officials from the Nay Pyi Taw MSME Association yesterday.

The Union minister and participants discussed supporting the development of the full production value chain from cotton to cotton wool, yarn and textiles, in line with the guidance of the President, providing technological assistance for small-scale production of bamboo pulp and consumer goods, facilitating faster access to loans for MSMEs, organizing awareness workshops for wider use of digital systems, encouraging business registration to access government support, promoting the production and sale of value-added products, fostering entrepreneurship, strengthening MSME groups, and advancing agro-based industries.

Moreover, the Union minister emphasized that MSME entrepreneurs should register their businesses at the start of operations, produce and sell the value-added products rather than selling raw materials, increase the production of quality goods that meet established standards, and actively encourage the emergence of entrepreneurs, and also highlighted the importance of strengthening both individual businesses and MSME associations, and working collaboratively across sectors to support the State economic development.
