A Myanmar delegation involving officials from Supreme Court of the Union led by Union Chief Justice U Tha Htay attended the Council of ASEAN Chief Justices (CACJ) Retreat hosted by the Federal Court of Malaysia from 18 to 21 October in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The meeting was held to review the achievements over the past ten years of CACJ and to establish future strategic agendas.
On 19 October, Union Chief Justice U Tha Htay together with the Chief Justices of ASEAN countries visited the Federal Court of Malaysia located in the Palace of Justice in Putrajaya to observe the use of AI technology in Malaysian courts. Then, the Chief Justices attended a briefing of CACJ Model Rules, established by the ASEAN Chief Justices Council and implemented by the Malaysian Supreme Court, including the 10th anniversary commemorative stamp exhibition.
The Union Chief Justice attended the CACJ Retreat at the Shangri-La Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on 20 October. At the meeting, Hon Tun Tengku Maimun binti Tuan Mat, Chief Justice of the Federal Court of Malaysia, made an opening remark before Union Chief Justice U Tha Htay and the Chief Justices of ASEAN participated in the review of the achievements of CACJ over the ten-year period and the future strategic agendas.
