Napyidaw, April 23.

The terrorists who identify themselves as PDFs and operate under the guidance of terrorist organizations NUG and CRPH are engaging in violent acts that include killing, threatening, coercing, arresting, and torturing innocent individuals, including monks and government employees. Their primary goal is to destabilize the government's administrative system and spread fear among the general public.

On April 22, around 2:00 PM, a terror act was committed by PDF terrorists resulting in the assassination of U Sai Kyaw Thu, deputy director general of the Union Election Commission. U Sai Kyaw Thu resided at No. 11/B, First Floor, Waizayantar Road. On the day of the incident, he drove his own Honda Odyssey to the hospital to drop off his wife. While driving back home along Waizayantar Road, at the intersection with Yadanar Road, No. 16/2 Ward, two PDF terrorists suddenly appeared on a battery-powered bicycle in front of U Sai Kyaw Thu's car and fired 12 shots with a pistol. The terrorists then fled the scene on their bicycle, heading North along Waizayantar Road.

U Sai Kyaw Thu sustained multiple gunshot wounds during the attack, including his right forehead, left neck, right forearm, and upper left waist, resulting in his unfortunate death on the scene. Following the incident, security forces transported his body to San Pya Hospital, located in Thingangyun Township.

The brutal act of terrorism that resulted in the untimely demise of a valuable civil servant is an immense loss not only for the Union Election Commission but for the entire nation. The security forces are currently conducting a thorough investigation to identify and bring to justice those responsible for this cowardly and heinous act. The authorities and security organizations are also urging the public to come forward with any information that may aid in the investigation. Anyone with knowledge about these terrorists is encouraged to report it confidentially.
