THE food offering ceremony for more than 21,000 Buddhist monks will take place in Yangon and Mandalay on the full moon day of Kason.

On 3 May, the full moon day of Kason (Buddha Day), the consecration ceremony of the Shwedagon Pagoda by 11,111 monks from various sects and the ceremony to offer provisions and various articles to monks will be held at the People's Square and Park in Dagon Township, Yangon Region.

In the same way, the Mandalay Region Government will organize the donation of food and offerings for 10,268 monks in Mandalay on the same day.

The presiding monks of all the monasteries and the monks of the Buddhist seminaries in Yangon will be brought together for the donation ceremony in Yangon Region. As for Mandalay, a total of 10,268 monks, with 2,567 on each side of the Mandalay Moat, will be provided with offerings.

It is known that arrangements are being made to provide health care to the monks on their alms round. The people who want to donate will be able to participate in the donation themselves and contribute money to the donation.
