THE State Administration Council held a ceremony to listen to the recitation of Paritta on the occasion of Myanmar New Year 1385 ME for the citizens to be free from varieties of dangers at the Office of the SAC Chairman in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.

It was attended by members of the Sangha led by State Ovadacariya Maha Thihanada Monastery in Tatkon of Nay Pyi Taw Sayadaw Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Bhaddanta Acinna, SAC Secretary Lt-Gen Aung Lin Dwe, the deputy minister for Religious Affairs and Culture, permanent secretaries, departmental heads and officials.

The SAC Secretary offered alms, water, fruits and flowers to the Buddha image in the hall. Members of the Sangha recited Metta Sutta and Antarayika Kammava. The Secretary and party donated offerings to members of the Sangha.

After the ceremony, the Secretary and party offered day meals to members of the Sangha.
