THE Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Tokyo has announced that the condolence book will be opened from 30 March to 4 April.
The Embassy said in a statement that the Ambassador and the staff expressed their condolences and sympathies for the loss of life and property caused by the severe earthquake that struck Myanmar on 28 March by holding a minute of silence, paying respect and praying.
During the week of national mourning that the embassy announced, ambassadors from embassies based in Tokyo, chargés d’affaires, deputy heads of embassies, members of parliament, the Japanese Red Cross Society, heads of Japanese business companies, the president and executive directors of the Asia-Pacific Ladies Friendship Association (ALFS), and the vice-president of the Saitama Chapter of Ikebana International Group visited the Myanmar Embassy and signed the book of condolences for those affected by the earthquake.
