A Rom Cargo Airline plane carrying UNICEF Myanmar relief supplies for earthquake-affected people arrived at Yangon International Airport yesterday morning.

It arrived at Yangon Airport from Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai, the UAE, carrying 484 boxes (78,736 kilogrammes) of medicines, consumer goods, and relief materials to be distributed by UNICEF Myanmar for use in relief efforts in earthquake-affected areas of Myanmar. Upon arrival at Yangon Airport, UNICEF Myanmar officials accepted the cargo and transported it to the Air Cargo Terminal, where it will be distributed to earthquake-affected areas in Myanmar.

The government is swiftly investigating the damage in earthquake-affected areas and carrying out timely relief efforts. Additionally, it has opened the way for humanitarian assistance from abroad.
