Join efforts in initiating the development of resilient and progressive communities
THE State has established the Committee for the Development of Resilient and Progressive Communities and is actively implementing regional-level discussions on building resilient communities, regional development projects, and socio-economic improvement programs. These efforts are being visibly carried out, and it is believed that continuous collaboration between the government, the people, and local communities will lead to greater strength, resilience, and progress.
In Myanmar, throughout successive eras, there has generally been a disconnect between governing bodies and the communities they govern, with each side operating within its own sphere. As a result, in some cases, there has been a noticeable distance and lack of connection between the authorities and the people. While the State has indeed been working for the benefit of the people, certain actions have not aligned with the realities of daily life, leading to unmet needs and dissatisfaction. However, with the current implementation of programs aimed at developing resilient and progressive communities, it is hoped that the lives of the people and the social system will become more closely integrated.
For the development of resilient and progressive communities, it is essential to maintain the foundation of territorial security and peace without disruption. Just as the State Government and responsible authorities are jointly implementing this goal, the people – being a nation with strong moral and spiritual values – must also contribute through compassion, cooperation, and mutual support, particularly by helping the vulnerable. For the future peace, stability, and development of Myanmar, everyone must actively participate in their respective roles within the ongoing national initiatives being implemented.
The development of resilient and progressive communities also serves as a foundation for the flourishing of a genuine democratic system. To achieve this, the entire public must possess awareness, understand and abide by rules and discipline, show compassion, and be capable of cooperation. By actively participating in local affairs and regional development, the socioeconomic lives of the people will also improve.
To ensure a stable and prosperous social life, broad and systematic efforts must be carried out including rehabilitation, creating employment opportunities, providing recognized identification documents to the public, promoting knowledge and vocational skills development, ensuring proper access to assistance and support from relevant authorities, encouraging participation in elections, fostering development in towns and villages, maintaining peace and stability, and promoting a pleasant and harmonious environment. As such, the government, relevant organizations, and local communities work together in a collaborative manner to successfully and continuously implement all the programmes for building a stable and developed society
