Ceremonies to hoist and salute the national flag to mark the 73rd Independence Day were held in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.

The events took place in front of Nay Pyi Taw City Hall in line with the rules and guidelines of COVID-19 preventive measures.

The flag hoisting platoon raised the national flag at 4:20 am, along with the ethnic races.
At 6 am, those present at the ceremony were Pyithu Hluttaw Deputy Speaker U Tun Tun Hein, Amyotha Hluttaw Deputy Speaker U Aye Tha Aung, Union Ministers, Union Attorney-General, Union Auditor-General, Chairman of the Union Civil Service Board, Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, Governor of Central Bank of Myanmar, Acting Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission, Chairman of Myanmar National Human Rights Commission, senior Tatmadaw officers, judges from the Supreme Court of the Union, the Myanmar Constitutional Tribunal members, Union Election Commission members, Commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command, Deputy Ministers, Deputy Attorney-General, members of UCSB, Nay Pyi Taw Council members, Deputy Governor of CBM, departmental heads and staff members and national people.

Vice-President U Myint Swe, in his capacity as chairman of Central Committee on the 73rd Independence Day celebrations, received the salute of the Guard of Honour. The Guard of Honour also saluted the nation’s martyrs and fallen soldiers and took the four-point oath.

The Vice-President read a message sent by President U Win Myint for the 73rd Anniversary Independence Day.
