Pyidaungsu Hluttaw continued its 15th regular session yesterday, and voted on third category of provisions related to Section 436 (a).
On the 21st day meeting, a total of 633 MPs , out of 654, attended to vote and 21 persons were on leave.
Supporting votes for each provision failed to pass the 75 per cent of votes required for the amendments, with 414 votes for paragraph (a) of Section 412, 414 votes for paragraph (b) of Section 412, 414 votes for Section 413, 417 votes for Section 418, 417 votes for paragraph (a) of Section 418, 416 votes for paragraph (b) of Section 418, 415 votes for Section 419, 416 votes for Section 420, 410 votes for Section 421, 417 votes for paragraph (a) of Section 421, 417 votes for paragraph (b) of Section 421 respectively.
The voting process was also witnessed by Hluttaw representatives from respective political parties.
The Pyidaungsu Hluttaw will continue voting on amendment proposals today.
