Union Minister for Education Dr Chaw Chaw Sein presided over a meeting on reviewing policies for promotions and transfers of staff in the teaching and administration sectors of basic education and exploring ways to effectively increase the grade transition rate with full quality standards in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

The Union minister stated that policies regarding promotions and transfers of staff and employees under the basic education sector need to be transparent. This meeting was held to establish better policies, and it is expected that, in line with the prescribed laws and civil service regulations, the most effective promotion and transfer policies can be discussed and implemented. The efforts should be made to support the government’s objectives, including successfully achieving KG+9 completion and increasing the student grade transition rate.

She continued that participants should pay attention during this discussion to help increase the transition rate. Regarding promotions and transfers, the policies established in this meeting should be implemented at the central, regional, district, and township levels. Efforts should be collectively made to ensure the meeting achieves its objectives, to establish the best possible policies, and to generate positive outcomes for the education sector.

Deputy Minister U Nay Myo Hlaing and participants coordinated the discussion. The meeting will be held for two days from 14 to 15 October.
