THE Myanmar Embassy in Malaysia has made it clear on its Facebook page that the postings on the internet claiming to handle passport and consular issues are not related to them.

With the intention of deceiving Myanmar citizens, some Facebook pages say, “Daw Nilar from the Myanmar Embassy in Malaysia has started accepting the forms for September and October “, “Kuala Lumpur Myanmar Embassy Passport General Service”, and “Service available for passport and consular issues” and they are not true, it said.

Regarding these posts, the embassy has clarified that those advertisements have absolutely nothing to do with the Myanmar Embassy, and it will not be responsible for solving any issues arising out of them, and investigations will be made to reveal these dishonest Facebook/TikTok account owners to take action against them in accordance with the law.

The Myanmar Embassy in Malaysia provides services such as issuance of new passports, renewals, reapplication for lost ones, and consular matters, including Certificate of Identity (C of I) for the benefit of Myanmar citizens in a timely manner. For public information, people can refer to the Myanmar Embassy’s Facebook page, “Myanmar Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia”, and website: https://myanmarembassykl.org, it stated.

As for the citizens of Myanmar, they can contact the Myanmar Embassy using WhatsApp No +6011 2510 5774 for any information at any time, the embassy announced on 13 November.
